The Opportunity

For more than 200 years, global knives retailer, WÜSTHOF provided customers cutting edge products through brick and mortar and online retail partners. WÜSTHOF asked us to design, develop and launch their first headless e-commerce website in just 3 months. WÜSTHOF also challenged us to further increase brand awareness and boost revenue through digital channels.In addition to launching the headless website, we developed a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to reach new and existing customers across several digital touchpoints for WÜSTHOF. Our focus was to create compelling, high-end designs for advertisements across several channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, CTV, Google Display Network (GDN), Google Shopping, and Paid Search. Our tactical plan also included email marketing and influencer marketing.

The Strategy

When constructing WÜSTHOF’s D2C marketing strategy, we executed strategic initiatives for every stage of the funnel — capturing new consumers during the awareness stage, keeping them engaged, nurturing them to conversion, and retaining them through customer loyalty tactics. Through each touchpoint, VividFront showcased WÜSTHOF’s unique value proposition and how they stacked up to their competitors in a saturated luxury knife space. Effectively communicating what makes WÜSTHOF special —artisanally crafted, premium knife blades that deliver exceptional precision and are of the highest quality—became the focus of all our marketing efforts.Our successful marketing initiatives included a robust mix of search engine marketing, social media marketing, influencer marketing, email marketing, and remarketing campaigns. We had multiple tactics running at every stage of the funnel to nurture people continuously down the funnel and to encourage long-term, holistic e-commerce revenue growth. It takes 7-11 touch points before a customer becomes loyal to your brand, demonstrating the importance of creating a healthy marketing mix for long-term growth. In just two years, we incrementally increased our paid media spend to facilitate holistic e-commerce revenue growth and increased their D2C sitewide sales by 516% and yearly orders by 334%.
